So, today is my “no school” day! What do I mean? Well, I mean unless it is absolutely necessary I do NOT do homework of any kind. If it is necessary then I make an effort to only do school work while the two older kids are at school.
Instead of homework I spend time with my husband, clean, organize, and hang out with my kids. This was not always my practice but a great professor-friend suggested that I always take a day off from school work in order to keep my sanity…great advice.
So what am I doing this time?
- Clean my room. Try to tackle the laundry mountain in my room (haha, yeah I will keep telling myself that)
- Grocery shopping. I love to buy them, I hate to put them away.
- Make a nice dinner
- Spend time with my hubby
- Pick up the kids from school
- Family movie night
I love Friday’s. I can just enjoy being home and being with my family. For all my moms in college I recommend setting aside your school work one day a week — just let it go and enjoy time with your family, you won’t regret it!

I’m a mom in school as well and trying to juggle home life and school life can be such a struggle at times! Nice to see I’m not alone in the world!
You are definitely not alone! It can be a serious struggle and every day I feel like giving up at times…but we can do this! I hope you continue to come back to this blog and more importantly I hope you find it encouraging!
